test day

Today in class we took a test on ancient Greece and I feel that I did pretty well there was some things that I did not know about some of the questions about the philosophers that messed me up. Quinn and Caroline forgot to fill in some of the questions of the test and Mr. Schick gave them back the test so they could fill in the missing answers which I think is very nice because if he did not give there test the missing question would have lowered their test grade. The test was pink and we were not allowed to use our computers until everyone was done their test. So far, I have had three test in the three classes that we have had so far and I still have one more that I have to do for Spanish. I think that I have done pretty well on all of my test. Mr. Schick is now grading our test.

Review Day #2

Today in class we took note on what was going to be on the test. We also have the test tomorrow. It think that this test will be easy if you study for it and hard if you don’t study for it. We took notes on the Hellenistic world and the great things that happened during this time. One of the things that we learned was Hellenistic culture was a blend of Greek culture, Egyptian culture, Persian culture, and Indian culture.   We also learned that the main language in the Hellenistic world it was koine, this was the popular spoken language used in the Hellenistic cities. Alexandria became the form of commerce and cultural/civilization. Alexandria had attractions such as Alexander’s coffin, which turned out to not be the real Alexander the great, Pharos, a lighthouse, and a library which had 50,000 papyrus scrolls.   These are some of the many things that we learned today about the Hellenistic world.

review day

Today in class we figured out what day our unit test was going to be on, we decided that it was going to be this Wednesday so we don’t have to worry about the test over break. We also went over what the main ideas that were going to be on the test. I think that this test will be easy if you study for it and hard if you don’t study for it. On the group project that we did and I was very happy with our grade, my group and I got a 94 which I think is very good. I am happy with the way that the project turned out. I think that I am going to do good on this test as long as I study hard for it and get a good grade on it.

Day When We Got Out Early

Today in class we listened to Ryan’s presentation on Homer and his life, in the presentation we learned about the Homeric question, homer early life, and the Odyssey and the Iliad which are two of Homers most famous works. At the end of the presentation we voted on the Homeric question, which is if homer really did exist or if he was a made up being. We talked about how much snow we were expected to get and we also talked about how much money we would get if we did shovel snow off of drive ways. We also looked at what Mr. Schick’s house would look like with all of the snow that is supposed to fall. We took a vote on what day we would like to have as a make-up day I we have off tomorrow.
