Review Day #2
Today in class we took note on what was going to be on the
test. We also have the test tomorrow. It think that this test will be easy if
you study for it and hard if you don’t study for it. We took notes on the Hellenistic
world and the great things that happened during this time. One of the things
that we learned was Hellenistic culture was a blend of Greek culture, Egyptian
culture, Persian culture, and Indian culture.
We also learned that the main language in the Hellenistic world it was koine,
this was the popular spoken language used in the Hellenistic cities. Alexandria
became the form of commerce and cultural/civilization. Alexandria had
attractions such as Alexander’s coffin, which turned out to not be the real
Alexander the great, Pharos, a lighthouse, and a library which had 50,000 papyrus
scrolls. These are some of the many
things that we learned today about the Hellenistic world.
