intro to western civ.


Today in class we talked about the guidelines for the class and what we needed to be successful in this class. We talked about the blogs and how many words that we needed to type. We talked about how many points each blog counts for and we also talked about how if you are not willing to do the blogs then it will be almost impossible to get an A in this class, but if you are the student that does the blog every night then you will probably get an A in this class. In this class, we also set up our blog accounts which were somewhat difficult for some people. Today we didn’t have any homework besides we have to do the blog which has to be the minimum of 150 words. Where I am sitting now I like a lot because I am sitting next to my friends, this should be a lot of fun this semester.

Today in class we went over two power point on the medieval times. We look at who the rulers were and what they did for their kingdom and weather the improved the life of the kingdom or if they made life worse. Here are some of the notes that I took on the power point.  -        Clovis rules the Franks in Gaul until his death in 511 -        Most of the rest of Europe consists of smaller kingdoms (seven in England alone) -        Clovis' descendants include Charles Martel, known as Charles the Hammer (great name!) -        Hammer defeats a Muslim raiding party from Spain at the  Battle of Tours in 732   -        (If he hadn't won, western Europe could have become part of the Muslim Empire -         that's huge!)

test day

Today in class we took a test, and we also are about to do some questions in the textbook. It think that the test was pretty easy and that I did good but I am still nervous of what I got, I feel like I did good but I don’t know if I really did good so we have to find out when we get the test back, I don’t know maybe he will grade the test today in this class and we will find out today. I am excited because tomorrow is a half day s that is nice and we get out at 12:45.
