Persian war
Today in class we continued to learn about the Greeks through the power point and today instead of talking about Greece and the government or culture we talked about the great Persian war. This is a war that the Greeks had no business winning but they pulled it off and won the war. We talked about the battle tactics such as phalanx, which is a square of soldiers that are armed with long spears and interlocking shields. This was a good tactic that helped lower the causalities in the battles tendentiously. The Persians had a huge army and larger amounts of resources but they were not as motivated as the Greeks who were there to preserve the democracy. When the Greeks won the war the Athenian came up with something called the Delian League which made all of the Greek city-states to come as one a build their army and navy so that they can defend themselves against any attacks that come.
