textbook readings


Today in class we took our test, I think that it was pretty easy and but there were some difficult parts in the test, but overall, I think that it was a pretty reasonable test and if you studied for it then you will get a good grade on the test. We also wrote notes in out notebook from textbook pages 134-141. In the textbook, we read about the Golden Age in Greece, which is when drama, sculptures, poetry, philosophy, architecture, and science reached all new heights. We also read about the war between Athens and Sparta, which Sparta completely dominated Athens and change the course of history. We also read about Pericles who had Athens support for 32 years, he ruled Athens for most of the Golden Age. We read about Socrates who believed that absolute standards did exist for the truth and justice, Plato who wrote down the conversations of Socrates.

Today in class we went over two power point on the medieval times. We look at who the rulers were and what they did for their kingdom and weather the improved the life of the kingdom or if they made life worse. Here are some of the notes that I took on the power point.  -        Clovis rules the Franks in Gaul until his death in 511 -        Most of the rest of Europe consists of smaller kingdoms (seven in England alone) -        Clovis' descendants include Charles Martel, known as Charles the Hammer (great name!) -        Hammer defeats a Muslim raiding party from Spain at the  Battle of Tours in 732   -        (If he hadn't won, western Europe could have become part of the Muslim Empire -         that's huge!)

test day

Today in class we took a test, and we also are about to do some questions in the textbook. It think that the test was pretty easy and that I did good but I am still nervous of what I got, I feel like I did good but I don’t know if I really did good so we have to find out when we get the test back, I don’t know maybe he will grade the test today in this class and we will find out today. I am excited because tomorrow is a half day s that is nice and we get out at 12:45.
