Hellenistic- This is when Greek culture
bended with Egyptian, Persian, and Indian influence. This blending of culture
became known as the Hellenistic culture.
Euclid- Euclid was a highly
regarded mathematician who taught in Alexandria.
Alexandria- A Egyptian city,
which was the center of commerce and Hellenistic civilization.
Archimedes- Archimedes is an
important Hellenistic scientist, he was from Syracuse, and he studied in
Alexandria. He was the one to accurately estimate the value of pie.
Colossus of Rhodes- This
statue was the largest Hellenistic statue know and was created on Rhodes Island,
this bronze statue stood more than 100 feet high.

Alexandria was one of the central places in the Hellenistic
world, trade ships from all around the world docked in it harbor. This lead to
the culture in Alexandria to spread worldwide.

The great names of astronomy, Eratosthenes and Aristarchus,
used a geometry text that was compiled by Euclid to solve many of the question
they were trying to answer.

Stoicism and Epicureanism both thought that the
main goal of humans was to live in harmony.
