punic wars


Today in class today in class we continue to learn about the Roman Republic. We learned about their war strategies and the armor of the Roman soldiers used in battle to protect himself. We talked about the different parts of army such as the cavalry. We also talked about the Punic wars. These wars lasted or over 100 years. The wars were against the rival Empire of Carthage. During the Punic wars, there was three an initial war that were taken place. The first was a naval attack launch by Carthage, the Roman Republic won that battle. The second Punic war was an attack by Carthage trying to attack and take Control of Rome. The Romans defended off the Carthaginians. This war lasted for 17 years, this was because a Carthaginian general ordered the troops to march to Rome, this took 15 years. Period. The third and final Punic war was an attack by Greece on the city of Carthage, the Romans completely destroyed the Carthaginians. They killed all the men who tried to fight back, and took the rest into slavery.

Today in class we went over two power point on the medieval times. We look at who the rulers were and what they did for their kingdom and weather the improved the life of the kingdom or if they made life worse. Here are some of the notes that I took on the power point.  -        Clovis rules the Franks in Gaul until his death in 511 -        Most of the rest of Europe consists of smaller kingdoms (seven in England alone) -        Clovis' descendants include Charles Martel, known as Charles the Hammer (great name!) -        Hammer defeats a Muslim raiding party from Spain at the  Battle of Tours in 732   -        (If he hadn't won, western Europe could have become part of the Muslim Empire -         that's huge!)

test day

Today in class we took a test, and we also are about to do some questions in the textbook. It think that the test was pretty easy and that I did good but I am still nervous of what I got, I feel like I did good but I don’t know if I really did good so we have to find out when we get the test back, I don’t know maybe he will grade the test today in this class and we will find out today. I am excited because tomorrow is a half day s that is nice and we get out at 12:45.
